Price Value Quality i ordered this sub with the atrend bbox and it slammed on only 400 watts! but now i have it in a custom 2 cu. ft box and on a sundown saz1500. only using 4 guage wire for now but it still slams. great sub for $150

Quality Price Value I've had every generation Type R subwoofer and I have to say hands down this one is the best. I always wanted a Type-X but those were just to expensive for my taste back then. Now this new gen Type R is rated just like an X and is half the price, so I bought three of them. Now one alone is as loud as two of the previous R, rated at 600 watts RMS. I had to dynamat my trunk because I almost broke my rear window with this new set up. I have them mated up with one MRX-M240 Alpine amp that puts out 2400 rms watts at two ohms. With the three subs wired to 2.7 ohms I'm not sure what they are pulling from the amp but I swear I never have a need to dial up my bass knob past 0. Well except for that one time this guy challenged me with 6 Rockfort Fosgates, sent him back to the drawing board long story short. Best sub for the buck point blank. Only way I will go anywhere else is if I decide to buy SMD or DD 18s. But I'm not rich yet.

Price Value Quality I'm running a single subwoofer with a SSL 5000D amp @ 1 ohm in a 2002 Wrangler. I purchased a SWS12D2 and fried it in 4 days. I knew I should have spent the extra dough and got this SWR12D2. Now my headlights are dimming and it's giving me my money's worth all day. I had to buy a Tsunami 2 farad capacitor. I can still over do it with the amp if you adjust the setting too much but, it's clean, clean, clean. I'm using only one and you feel it, as well as anybody around you. Yeah, you'll be the guy at the red-light slamming everyone. I used a sealed box I made with 1.322 cu. ft. inner volume for a different sub but, with the displacement of this sub I maxed the recommended size per Alpine manual. I like my sealed enclosures. I listen to everything so, I don't want to port it and have it just for bottom low end. And guess what it hit's all of the ranges a 12" should get and some upper low end sounds that are real, real clean. It's not punchy upper low end like a 10", it's deeper. Death metal and Heavy metal double kick drums have never felt so good. Put on the radio and the voices of the people talking are impressive in depth and bassy. I'm trying not to fry this one but, pump the goodness as it's made for. Loving it so far. The only thing that could have a chance at beating this would be 2 subs. If you want all low end and only listen to rap and stuff like that, then port it to specs, and I'm certain you'll like what it produces. If you like rock and alternative, and things like that, a sealed box in spec range is beautiful too. Bob Segar's acoustic guitar sounded so good on the way home today. Then I switched to Deamau5 Superliminal and had my back massaged.

Price Value Quality I had a lot of subs in my short 19 years of life, but these are by far the best subs I have ever had!! The bass is amazing! I am running two of these bad boys on an class D 1000 watt Memphis amp. They hit the lows like some top of the line 15's, but they are so accurate with hitting every beat its unreal. no type of lag at all. They are top of the line! You really don't even really need two of these monsters, but if you are into audio as I then you would know what I'm talking about! *THUMBS UP* 20 out of 20 is my rating

Price Value Quality These subs will rock your world .. Real s*** ! I listen to reggae, hip hop, rap , soca , dub step , house , electronic and this s*** man handles everything ! They are completely crazy !!! I shake windows and even floors .. I'll be driving beside you or near you and your mirrors are shaking too ! But please give it two weeks or so to break in properly , keep bass on the deck at -6 for about two-four days den slowly turn up the bass boost on the amp at 15% .. I'm running a SSL 3000watts and a JVC deck .. Two words GOD DAMN ! I LOVE THE ALPINE TYPE-R

Price Value Quality This sub has a wide range of bass and hits with a deep bass tone, not a rattling obnoxious bass. I am only powering this sub with 550 watts from an MRX-M110 Alpine Monoblock 1100W amp.
I WAS TOLD THAT IF YOU BUY THE AMP I MENTIONED ABOVE WITH AN ALPINE SWR-12D4 NOT A D2 SUB YOU CAN RUN ALL 1100 WATTS TO A SINGLE SUB. I INTENDED TO DO THIS BUT BOUGHT A 2OHM INSTEAD OF A 4OHM SUB (Posted on 10/5/2014) -

Price Value Quality this versatile sub handles in a range of 300-1000 watts rms and pounds like you have a trunk loaded with 2-3 subs its a monster at 300 watts hear you b4 they see you at 1000 watts you'r head is pounding rear view mirrors doing flip flops and your nieghbors are signing a partition to get your loud ass out the nieghborhood im gonna recommend a amp at 1000 watts rms just because i bought a bad one and it took me months of research to find the right one a Hifonics GLX1000.1D Gladiator 1 x 1000 Watts and 1 Ohm Amplifier pairs great and unlike the lastone i bought this one actually putts out what it says its cea certified
