I used this with an Alpine 12" and a sealed box. It was an inexpensive bass set up and surprised me by how well it sounds. Bass is very clear and deep. Very impressed with Alpine's quality.

I have never messed with a mono amp before but I needed something to run my two Alpine Type E's (my previous amp was an MTX and was overheating) so I googled it. Ha. I read ton of reviews and YouTubed which amp would be the best for two subs, specifically Alpine. The MRP was suggested but I looked on Amazon and it was over $200. FORGET THAT! Then I saw this amp for $138. Same amount of RMS and everything as the MRP but smaller! I was kind of scared when I ordered it because like I said I never messed with a mono amp and didn't know for sure if this would push them both to their full potential. While I was waiting for it to come in the mail the next few days I YouTubed (you can learn almost anything on YouTube) how to hook up two subs to a mono amp. Pretty simple. All you do is hook one sub to the other and that sub to the amp where there is ONLY one wire going into the amp. Easy. :) When the amp finally came in I disconnected my old amp and slapped this one on in less then ten minutes. I turned my stereo on and was shocked at how the subs were performing. My whole car shakes now and my trunk rattles like crazy. I'm crazy happy with this purchase! Now thinking about buying some dynamat. HA!

I bought this for my gf's 89 honda accord for her bday. We have 0 complaints about it. Bluetooth worked (without checking the manual) on my s3 and her galaxy tab 2 even streaming audio from Pandora and other apps (ie. navigation, google translate, etc.) so I don't know what problems the other reviewer was having. Also the mic works surprisingly well when making phone calls, sounds better than her phone's actually mic.

rated for 500w at 2 ohms. this thing is pushing 576 at 2 ohms. theres a reason i only buy alpine or kicker amps..they are always higher pushing than actually rated. great, inexpensive and the best bang for the money

    8. This is working very well, Review by Wright

I'm using this in a 2006 stang GT with ebay trunk sub enclosure and 12 inch Infinity Kappa sub with the proper amount of polyfill for the enclosure volume.

Along with the companion Alpine RUX-KNOB remote bass level control knob, I'm really liking this amp.

The bass expander isn't of any use to me on this setup. I keep that zeroed out.

My car has upgraded 8 inch door subs, so I keep this amp's LPF set at 50hz and the gain is at about 60%. I prefer lower gain than that, but this is for system sound leveling with other compromises in the system.

I test my system with TrueRTA Real Time Analyzer and find that setting this amp and the trunk sub to be super predictable and easy to do. I wish the whole system in my car was this easy to tune for crossover, PEQ, etc (Posted on 10/9/2014)

Works well with my 12' Polk subs. They pound hard and clean. Very clean looking when installed. I recommend getting the AUX RUX-Knob with this

    12. Excellent sound - Great compact design, Review by Norman

I needed something to power my one 10" Pioneer TSSW251 Shallow Mount 10" subwoofer and this is plenty of power. I needed this amp to be able to fit underneath the passenger seat in my Jeep and it fits great.

      Pros
      -Great sound
      -Great power
      -Compact size
-Optional bass knob feature (see cons)

      Cons
-I didn't think that the knob (sold separately) was working then I figured out that you have to set the boost dial on the amp to full then the knob works. The knob is like a "dimmer" switch in that at full it is at the full boost you have on the amp. It does not override the boost on the amp.

This is a great amp that continues to show why Alpine has been know for 20+ years as a top of the line car audio product. (Posted on 10/9/2014)

I've had this tiny amp hooked up to a 12" infinity for about 2 months. The sub is rated 300 watts rms so I only have my gain set halfway, and it pounds! 2 weeks ago I took a 800 mile trip and the amp stayed perfectly cool! I'm running at 2 ohms and it draws almost nothing on the battery, lights have yet to dim even when cranked up to the max. Great amp! You will not be disappointed!

Not a bad little amp. I run 2 kenwood 12's @ 2 ohm with this amp and I love every minute of it. I am sometimes tempted to turn the gain down but it runs so clean I never do. (Posted on 9/19/2014)

    17. Great amp/Small Size/Low Distortion Review by Deborah
      Quality
      Value
      Price

I would honestly recommend this to anyone who need an amp for a semi-high powered subwoofer. I paired this up with my 15 inch SWS and it hits like a ton of bricks with extremely low distortion at levels I can hear. I run it for hours without any overheating and it is extremely efficient with its power/heat levels. Only about 10 percent of the power is converted to heat. Despite being a class D amplifier I cannot notice any distortion before painful SPL with my 5v preamps going into it. It is small and yet very well built and after opening it up it has a good tough circuity system on the inside. Using a multimeter I tested its RMS power vs its 500 watt RMS rated power. It came in at 12 volts with my car off at 522 watts RMS and 556 watts RMS with the car running at 13.6 Volts. Runs cool and is still touchable after an and a half. Honestly the only problem I have with this whole amplifier is that it dims my headlights when I run it hard. Car problem not amp problem XD. If you use this amp I would recommend a big 3 upgrade and an additional battery in the trunk. Or if you don't want another battery and you're not worried about your alternator, a capacitor. Great amp at a great price and is extremely well built. 10 out of 10 I would buy again
