- The "Intelligent" portion of the R.I.P.S. System is a circuit that actually monitors output current to optimize the amplifier's output power over a wide range of load impedances (1.5 ohm to 4 ohm per channel)

JL Audio HD1200/1- The most power amplifier ever employs advanced single-cycle control switching design and R.I.P.S. technology to deliver 1200W of clean power into any impedance between 1.5 and 4 O, giving you the highest degree of flexibility in designing your subwoofer system. Tight power supply regulation keeps distortion down and maximizes your bass quality. While targeted primarily to subwoofer applications, the HD1200/1 is a wide-range amplifier and can also be used to drive high-performance mid-range speaker systems. This amplifier features a brushed aluminum finish with black powder-coated cast alloy heat sinks and bottom panel. A black powder-coated, gasketed cover is also provided to protect the controls.

Quality Value Price Bought this amp to run a 12w6v2, and wow, thats all I have to say. well worth the money, and if I want to add a second sub I always can. It will handle them both easy. A bit pricey, but im sure it will be the last sub amp i buy for a long time. (Posted on 9/22/2015)

Quality Value Price Have had this amp for 3 years now, thought there was a problem with it, turned out it was the woofer that was the problem. It runs cool as long as you supply air to it, but it will protect itself if it gets too hot. Unbelievable power for something this small, plenty of control over frequency and gains, and looks aesthetically pleasing with its simple yet elegant geometry. Highly recommend. People out there talk alot of crap about JL... I havent had any issues with this amp.

Quality Value Price I have this 1200/1 HD hooked up to a 12w7 and its insane gets nasty as hell. I've herd " bigger " amps with " more power " and they stand no where near this monster. Worth every penny no matter where you buy it aslong as it is installed properly you will never have a problem !

Quality Value Price if your into annoying people at the red lights then this is definitely for you i have this pushing 2 12w6 and let me tell you i have no problems handling those two beast of speakers cant wait to get my 13w7 and just rock the block. its so damn beautiful its smaller than my fat ps3 the aluminum finish. and not to mention the 1200 watts RMS whew man cant wait to get in my car and turn it up.

IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY YOU HAVE THIS AMP PUSHES OVER 1300 WATTS RMS WITH A STOCK BATTERY NO CAP OR EXTRA WIRES NEEDED BECAUSE IT ONLY REQURES 11 AMPS TO FULLY POWER THE AMP INSANE! AND NOT TO MENTION IT IS 1.5-4 OHM STABLE AND A SIZE OD A MINI LAP TOP SO YEAH THE FIRST TIME I HELD IT I THOUGH THIS IS A JOKE THIS LITTLE THINK PLEASE! SURE ENOUGH IT PUTS OUT WAY TO MUCH POWER I ACTUALY HAD TO TURN IT DOWN BY ALLOT I AM RUNNING THE 12W7AE AND LET ME TELL YOU THERE IS A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD JL 1000/1 AND THIS AMP CANT EVEN COMPARE P.S. people that bad mouth JL well.... they are just broke and poor and should not be argued with they will lower your IQ!
