Quality Value Price So I installed these in my 91 civic. Which isn't a perfect fit, but I managed it.
These do sound really really good. These replaced a set off cheap Kenwoods I had. Highs are nice, mids are good and they produce some pretty good bass also.
Only thing is I do think they would sound way better with an amp! When I turn it up too high, my head unit just isn't putting enough power on it's own to drive these properly. (Posted on 10/4/2014) -

Quality Value Price Bought these speakers for my daughters truck. Have had Alpine component speakers in the past and loved them, assumed that these would perform very well without braking the bank and was I right. Very clear highs and rich bass, even for a small speaker. Very large magnet and a built in high-pass filter for the tweeter. Now I need to get some 6x9's for my truck.

Quality Value Price I bought this as a drop-in upgrade to my factory speakers. It just barely fit in with the speaker cavity and the still able to use the factory grill. I am very happy with the performance of this speaker. Love Alpine products always. I saved ~$25 over MSRP and free shipping. It is as low a discount on an Alpine product.

plastic frames Review by Donald
Quality Value Price These frames are plastic, this is great in my case cause I have an old car that causes interference with metal basket speakers, that or the speakers were blown or so powerful that they pulled power from a short in the ground. I checked the ground between the speaker spot to the ground in only .002 volts but between the basket and the ground I was getting 5.8volts with the speaker on. Don't know the reason for this but the plastic baskets should solve the problem.

Quality Value Price These speakers are a solid choice to upgrade your car audio system. The materials are premium and I'd say the construction is good, even though one of the pair I ordered arrived with a 1/2'' hole in the speaker cone.
They are hefty and are easy to install.
They handle power well, and have a lot of headroom (you can turn them up to where they become uncomfortably loud and they still sound clear and are not distorting the signal).
The great thing is, you get the highs coming through a nice thick layer of bass, without having to install dedicated woofers. If you want your car to shake though, these speakers alone will NOT get you there. You'll need an amp.

Bang for Buck Review by Green
Quality Value Price "Bought these as a replacement for front door speakers on wife's 1995 Acura Integra Sedan with OEM tweeters mounted on the doors. Other Integra models that did not come with factory tweeters MAY need a different size than this to retain OEM fitment.
Installation: Complete Bolt-on (SEE UPDATE BELOW), no modifications. Even came with screws and brackets for install.
Quality: For the price, the quality is above average; silk tweeter, good solid surround on woofer, etc.
Sound: I'm giving this 5 stars not because it's perfect but because it sounds excellent for the price. This is a budget 5.25 speaker with a silk tweeter, which was my primary concern. Solid metallic tweeters (especially on cheaper units) tend to be overly bright and fatiguing. The lower frequency production is actually very good; full sounding, but since it's a smaller driver, you don't have to worry about boomy or loose sounding bass. It is not a subwoofer, so don't expect anything like it. Most of the bass in the Acura Integra sedan is actually produced by the rear speakers anyways. (Used Jack Johnson's ""Breakdown"" as a bass reference).
Overall, these speakers produce clear, distortion free, and very natural sounds. If you want loud, ""bassy"" speakers that can rupture your ear drums, then keep looking. If you want a good replacement speaker for a cheap price that produce overall good sound, then I would recommend these."
