Price Value Quality Replacing Clarions that lasted over 5 years. The Clarion tweeters dry rotted, but the boat stays uncovered on saltwater year round. The mx650's have slightly more thump in bass, but otherwise basically same sound as Clarions. Not an exact bolt pattern match, but good enough where I didn't need any patchwork. Hoping to get same or longer use out of JL's. JL's have best grill available for a high performance speaker that looks great on a saltwater boat while not looking like it belongs on a 15 year old's wakeboard tower. Grill and speaker housing are built rugged and have withstood kicks and cooler bumps. So far after 6 months into it, this is a clear case of you get what you pay for, and I would definitely buy again. (Posted on 9/22/2015)

Price Value Quality Replaced the factory Clarions with these as part of a complete stereo makeover on a SeaRay sport yacht. Couldn't be happier. Solid and well built, rugged and dependable. In an open deck environment, the nuances of highs and lows are often lost, and I'm not the best audiophile, but the sound quality is vastly improved. A bit pricier than some alternatives, but they also have a reputation as the "go to" high end speakers for upscale marine environments so there is a little bit of admittedly shallow pride of ownership attached as well...and I don't have to defend a "no name great game" product. Price Value Quality I just installed these in a flats salt water inshore fishing boat. I mounted these in the cockpit, towards the bow pointing aft (towards the center console/driver). The template that comes with the speakers is nice to have and use. After tracing the template I re-measured about 6 times to be perfectly sure they were symetrical for my application. Cut the hole out with a jig saw, installed and hooked to a JL 200w amp. I then mounted a aux input plug on the side of my center console that goes to RCA and connects to the amp. With limited space and the benefit of even less power draw - no head unit - amp is all that's on..... I think it's a must(Who listens to the radio or CD's anymore anyway?) I wired in the amp to my trolling motor battery. I turned the gain all the way down and hooked up the iPhone. It sounds great! With the gain as low as it will go, I can turn the volume on the iPhone to full on without having any distortion. Loud and clear! I think this set up might be good luck too. The first time out, My buddy and I caught two slot sized snook while streaming Pandora(at 1/4 volume)!! I ran the trolling motor and left the volume at 1/4 for almost 4 hours and still had battery left. I would highly recommend this set up!! (Posted on 2/11/2015)

Price Value Quality I just installed these yesterday but I'm already in love. I have these ran directly off a fusion mg-600ip head and they sound like they're hooked up with subs and an amp. Unbelievable sound and quality design with a 3 year warranty, you can't go wrong. Buy these!!

Price Value Quality Purchased these JL Speakers to put in the Forward berth on my boat. They definately lived up to their brand reputation....these are excellent speakers. Also have a pair of the 770's topside powered by a JL M4500 amp. This system blows away the Poly Planer speakers that were in the boat. Product is built very well, Looks great and the sound clarity is fantastic. I highly recommend JL audio products.

Price Value Quality You cant go wrong with these speakers. I put a pair in my seadoo speedster and the sound just blew me away. The quality of the speakers is amazing, I am running them off just my head unit and the sound is plenty without the aid of an amplifier. Buy these speakers.

Price Value Quality I don't normally write reviews, but I have been using the reviews on various products for my benefit for a long time and I though I should give back.
These speakers are great. I am running them off my Kenwood head unit. I have them install in my triton bass boat.
I am very pleased. They are worth every penny.
I was using some cheap Dual speakers before but the difference is night and day with JL speakers. I would make sure that you have a good quality head unit to get the most out of these speakers.

Price Value Quality I purchased a pile 6 speaker radio and 2 pile amps for my boat. I hooked them up and got laughed at by my friends. I tooked them out after using them twice and replaced them with these JL audio speakers. It sounds like I am at a concert. I would recomend spending the extra money on these speakers especially if you live around salt water. These speakers are incredible. Don't make the same mistake I did by putting crap stereo equipment on your boat. If your going to do it you might as well do it right. I have these speakers hooked to a JL Audio amp. Yeah its a little expensive but by the time I replace this system I would of gone threw five others. It was hard to come out that much money at first but it will pay off in the long run.
