The new fourth-generation Type-S subwoofers have undergone a revolutionary redesign, leaning heavily on patented technologies developed for the Type-R series. It can hit any note so far that I have true high or low! Great sound quality and no distortion what so ever!    wow what an improvement. This is the first sub I ever installed in my car so I can't really compare it to anything else, but the sound quality is excellent. It can go very loud, much more than I needed.

   Clean and loud bass for 500RMS! This thing can get really loud if you match the wattage with the proper amp. My previous sub was a P3 (the rockford was louder and deeper) but it blew on me ;(

   If your looking to buy an alpine speaker get it from these guys theres a box in a box ,no scratches or anything very good product I boughgt a previous alpine from another seller n it was horrible packaging was ripped and the speaker looked used when I had bought it new. (Posted on 11/9/2015)

   I recently installed one of these subwoofers in my car and I am very impressed! I have it in the r/t labyrinth enclosure that you can also purchase here on car audio giants and hooked up to an older alpine mrd-m501 digital amplifer giving it 550 watts rms and it gets so loud for only having one subwoofer. This subwoofer is basically last years alpine type r with the 500 rms/1500 peak rating. Deffinately recomend it. I have had numerous car audio set ups and alpine has never let me down.
