I wanted to avoid having custom door panels made for a component set, so an installer recommended these speakers. The primary benefit of component speakers is having a quality crossover network and having a real tweeter, not some squawker tossed in to add noise on the very top end.
These speakers can produce some real bass, like you'd expect from an 8" speaker. The installer crossed them over at 60hz and when I have the subwoofer turned down, I can still hear some real bass coming from up front.
They are very efficient and can get extremely loud. Earsplitting loud. Running 100Wrms to them and they take it in stride.
