   The head unit has a beautiful display. I installed it in a 2015 Subaru STI and the factory unit had amp so the only install problem i had was getting power to amp. After a search on forums i found the wire provided power to amp and its awesome. (Posted on 9/22/2015)

   This is one of the most responsive & snappy, logically laid out head units on the market, and I looked high and low searching for the best at this price. I bought this unit to put in our 2015 Subaru Legacy, which is my wife's car. The number one thing it had to be for her to like it was it had to be logically laid out, and respond like it should. It is both of those in spades. The navigation is accurate, maps are easy to update via usb. It has lane assist, free live traffic updates. HD Radio displays album art. iPod controls are responsive and easy to use. I came to this from owning several Kenwood units. Although they all were good in certain areas, I don't' not regret for a second buying this instead of another Kenwood or Alpine. (Posted on 9/2/2015)

   I have an old Dodge Truck with crappy factory radio. I replaced it a couple years ago with a single DIN receiver that worked great. When I heard Pioneer was releasing an Android Auto double DIN receiver, I couldn't wait. I had to get a new console cover but no big deal there. It fits great and looks even better.    I bought this unit to upgrade the factory JBL head unit. I wanted GPS and a backup camera. The display is very nice and looks very close to factory installed navigation system with the install kit provided. The wiring diagrams in the installation guide were not as good as I had hoped, but with help from technical support the install went fairly well. I have use the 8100NEX for about a week and have had no issues. I am about to go on my first trip out of state were I'll have to use the navigation system to find my way around a new and strange town. I suspect it will work fine.     I'm huge into car audio. Always have been and have had a $25K system installed into a show car that has been in magazines before. So I am definitely not a novice. With that, let me say - amazing head unit!! I bought a Nexus 6 just to make sure I could use the Android Auto and it really is a top of the line unit. I've had the thing since the 2nd day it was out and haven't found any flaws so far. Touch screen is very reactive and quick. I was also able to hook up 2 USB cables to the back, one for my phone and the other I have a Samsung 256GB M.2 SSD drive attached loaded with a ton of movies. Loading the drive is fast and tapping the USB button on the home screen brings up a list with every movie, each with the title I gave it in Windows and a preview thumbnail.     Bought this unit to replace an ailing factory nav unit in my 2006 4Runner. Had some issues trying to figure out how to install this since my SUV had the factory JBL installed. Once that was sorted out and the unit was hooked up I was very pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. Out of the box, the navigation would not provide guidance. I had to downloaded a free update from the Pioneer website to correct that issue. If you want to use this with an Android smartphone (I use a Samsung S5 with Lollipop), install AppRadio and CarKeyboard apps on your phone first. AndroidAuto and MirrorLink will then be enabled and your off to the races! I love the fact that this unit plays .flac audio files. The HD Radio is a plus too! I am so pleased with this unit that I am going to buy another for my RAV4. (Posted on 6/27/2015)
