Well constructed shallow mount woofer, not ideal for 2002 tahoe stock replacement Review by Green
Quality Value Price Replaced the factory Sub in my 2002 tahoe with this one. I had read on a forum or two that this one is recommended as another that was supposedly a direct replacement is no longer manufactured. I was slightly dissapointed that it did not pop into the factory elcosure but was not surprised. The diameter of the surround was larger than the factory rabbit on the factory box. I had two choices. I could enlarge the hole in the factory box or I could mount the sub against the outside of the box, and then deal with it sticking out which would most likely entail cutting the plastic grill out of the rear panel. I went with the latter. I did not believe that once I routered away enought plastic to get the sub to sit flush that there would be enough structure left to support the sub. So I centered in over the old hole and put it in. I then cut out the grill of the panel as it now was touching the diaphram of the sub. The noticable thing that I didn't like about my choice was that the sub grating does not align exactly with the sub, and adjusting the mounting position as i did by moving the included cardboard mounting ring around, places the sub above the top of the box. So it looks a little off to me now that you can clearly see the sub. Works great though. My stock sub was dryrotted to hell and back and rattled and cracked.

Quality Value Price Very very very pleased!!!.., replaced stock sub in 02 Suburban but had to roto zip the box a little to get it to fit. Very easy mod and the sound is superb without needing to take away space with a box or anything taking away from the spacious room a suburban offers

Front Speaker: Infinity Reference 6830cs (Component system - tweeters installed at top corners of door, closest to the front windshield)

4Guage Wiring kit (WIRING DIAGRAM: battery>fuse>CAP 12v> AMP 12v --Cap and Amp individually grounded)
For those of you relenting because of only 3 reviews, BUY THIS WOOFER. I would normally never buy a shallow-mount 8, but my escape has the stock woofer and its pretty garbage (along with all the other speakers). I replaced the speakers with nice infinity's but the woofer had to go. The 200W OEM amp on the escape was garbage, so i had to replace. Glad i did. Woofer fit perfectly in the OEM housing."
